Best mammoth? Well, I don't know; they are all too alike to me to prefer one to another.
But if you asked me the best mammoth EVER, I would have replied you with the Schleich CLASSICS 1980's one-and a half-inch mammoth (from the 10-piece line including Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Diatryma, Scuttelosaurus, Long-Necked Turtle, Elasmosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops and Apatosaurus). One of these days, I'll show you the picture.

Which mammoth do you think is better?
Schleich
Papo
Safari prehistoric
Safari carnegie

Thanks for any input :)
Happy collecting
The carnegie one without a shadow of a doubt, its the most realistic by far,the new papo one very good too. The schleich one by far the worst i'm suprised they produced such an awful looking model

Why do you say it's awful?

to me its over hairy, too short and stumpy and mine was totally the wrong colour, it did improve with a repaint but still didn't look right. Not realistic enough for me. compared to the papo and carnegie its a long way off but thats just my opinion. Disapointed with the papo one to,that looks like the cartoon ice age mammoth only fatter

I think the Carnegie Mammoth looks better, but everything else is still great.

To me, they all look great too, although I think the retired running Papo mammoth was better than the new "regular" one.

As for the Schleich, Petebuster, what exactly is wrong with the color? To me, it looks just great. As a matter of fact, live mammoths were a lot darker than the pelk remains tell us. Preshistoric paintings all show mammoths drawn with black charcoal, which means mammoths were dark in color.
But maybe you find the color too light?

The one i received was mostly a light baige not even brown, and i look for realism. Imo the schleich looks unrealistic and out of proportion compared to others

I have the new Papo, the Carnegie and the Bullyland and they are a small but very nice herd.
The Carnegie is really beautiful but IMHO not so realistic, the way it walk is absolutely false.
It's also true for the two others but one can believe they just stand...
Despite this, they are really fine.
The Papo is better in real life than on pics and, for me, far better than the Schleich which I don't want to buy.
