Default New 2012 African Elephants

They are great--the photos do not do them justice. Now I am in a dilemma do I create a new herd from the 2012 elephants or mixed them with the former elephants??? has anyone else gotten the elephants yet--very impressed! What I was not impressed with was the HUGE scale difference with the elephants and pelican! the pelican is just as big. And the stork stands above the elephants, so I am told. I know the scale of all Schleich animals have never been in line but these are major differences.

I've seen the stork in the store: it's standing on an incredibly cheap, hollow, hard plastic base. The kind of material seen in vintage 1$ Made in Hong Kong figs. Maybe if you remove that awful base, you could make that stork more acceptable in scale.

Had a check of stork and it is fairly average base. The other birds all seem to have a solid base, so I wonder what the issue is with the stork.

Maybe the makers feared for the very long, thin legs would break, if the base was too solid... and heavy?

You know what I think? I think Schleich should have represented their stork FLYING. At least, they wouldn't have feared for broken legs and they wouldn't have had to make that oh-so-cheap base.
