Papo's new products are bigger, like a breed between Schleich and Safari.
Nevertheless, one can consider Papos have a good size, Safaris are too big and Schleichs too small...

Very smart answer, Christophe. Make the Safari as the too big and the Schleich as the too small. That leaves the Papo as the perfect scale. Hahaha...

Papo have incorporated really good 2009 s with some of their older s which are awful such as their bison and zebra but I have a feeling that they will renew these for 2010. The have to. Their zebra is terrible! cant wait....
Yeah, I don't know why, but Papo seems to have problems when it comes to carve agile hoofed mammals. Their giraffes have their radius bones way too short, the doe has her "fingers" (called "paturons" in french) way too long and flat on the ground, while their zebras have their forelegs way too bent on the wrists level. I don't understand that, because their reptiles and felines are absolutely above perfetion. Do you understand that?

At least they are trying to improve each year. Like last year, their Gnu and the Kudu are both great. This year, their Orangutan and the Cape Buffalo are also a good additions. Obviously much better than the Schleich and Safari Ltd's previous Cape Buffaloes. Not to mention, their new Tigress with a cub is simply the best figure of the 2010 and another a collector's item in the making.

And it's a very good sign for all the animal figure collectors that these toy companies are moving forward into the next level. They are getting and getting better each year. But then, they still have to work in on how they will improve their other figures like their Zebras and the Giraffes for instance to look like a real one.

Absolutely spot on. They are masters with the cats and reptiles but but not very good with hoofed animals compared to others.....

But I don't understand why: all vertebrated animals have the very same skeleton sheme! Once we know that, everything is way easier!

I think it's not the same sculptor who made wild cats and reptiles...

Well, the one who makes cats and reptiles MUST be the same. It's the one who makes the light hooved animals who might differ.
