The warehouse - probably the last time we'll see this as they're moving the whole lot to a new, huge building a few miles away. Hope they find some interesting leftovers at the bottom ;)

The small place where all the DS parts orders are put together, using electric racking. The pieces are in boxes. A few items, including some weapons and a hat could be seen on the floor, some of them squashed by the many small trucks whizzing by....

Last one for now...

Klickies from Malta waiting to go into the boxes with the parts made in Germany

Thanks for posting the pictures Nick. As for image sharing site, I use Photobucket and if I recall correctly the just increased the capacity to 2GB for the free membership.

Thanks for the pics Nick. That factory is huge. Very interesting to see a little of the production process. I am totally envious. Must have been such an enjoyable tour.
I might check out Photobucket because the other forum I am a member of does not have any image hosting at all.
Cheers

Here are some more pics of the tour

One of several rows of plastic injection moulding machines producing larger parts. The different coloured plastic is pumped through the pipes you can see top left.

Some of the moulds waiting to into the next production run.

Fresh off the production line!

The factory could be a dangerous environment ;)

This is where the plastic granules go into the system for colouring and injection moulding

This is where the bags of pieces are boxed. Often several family members work in the factory - the largest local employer, and students supplement the workforce during the holidays. The factory runs 24 hours a day in 3 shifts.

Boxes are printed elsewhere and clever machinery folds and glues them ready to be filled. Scales are used to ensure nothing is missing

Obviously there was a lot more to the Member Meeting than just the factory tour, and if you want to see pictures of some my favourite exhibits from the 40th Anniversary Exhibition in Speyer (including some spectacular ones by Brubil / Onnedin) visit my Facebook page :)

Thank-you Nick. You have more than fullfilled my request for photos. It looks like it really was a weekend to remember. Makes me wish I did not live on such a remote island.
Cheers
