Default Model Pheasant...

I made, yesterday, a model of a pheasant out of Clay/Das and painted it today in Acrylic. I did make a female Pheasant but the painting went wrong so I'll have to re-paint her It's in scale with Schleich, so I thought it would look nice in a woodland scene. There's one thing I forgot to do and that's the tuffty bit at the back of his head, so I'll have to do that. He looks funny without it!

Good job. I don't think I have enough talent to even attempt something like this. I admire those who do.

great figure, I did a partridge and some pears for a Christmas display one year, doing your own work can be a lot of fun

Thanks, glad you liked him. I didn't like his wings, thought they looked messy, I need a smaller paint brush. I liked his head, back and tail, but I think I might model another, now that I'm familiar with it I might do a better one.
I was comparing him to the roe buck, I don't know, do you think the pheasant's the right scale? A roe deer in real life is about three foot tall and the common pheasant around 16". So the height is OK, but I wonder if the chunkiness of the pheasant makes him too big?? Here's a picture.
