Default Hello from a Frenchie living in New York

Hi everyone,

First let me introduce myself. I am French, 30 and I live in New York. During my childhood, I have always been playing with Playmobil. I remember having the train, the train station, one pirate ship, the castle 3446, and a lot more ... but most important I remember I spent a lot of time playing with all these items and having probably one of the best time of my life.

Then, I let the Playmobils down for almost 15 years (studies and work), until I had my son. One day, in June 2006, I was looking for toys on the internet and I found a link to the collectobil website. From there, I completely lost it ...!!!! After a few research I realized that playmobil abandonned the stecks to go with the system X. I felt bad that my son would not have the opportunity to build its own castle one day. From this point, I decided to collect as much stecks pieces as possible to build a large castle. But what turn out to be online shopping for my son became starting a huge collection for me ...!!!!!

A little bit more than a year later, not only my apartment is full of knights boxes but also of pirate boxes. I have to say that these two themes are the one I prefer and that I am trying to get as many sets as possible. I also think about getting into the romans because I find extremly well done.

Unfortunately, since I live in an apartment, I cannot build the castle of my dreams and I wait impatiently for moving out to a house in a year or two to get my own Playmobil room (I will allow the kids to go there too!!!). Until this day, I do a lot of customizing (especially crusaders, arab and saracen warriors which are probably my favorites).

I hope I have not been to long in my introduction and that I have not put any of you to sleep. I am glad to be part of this board and will try to make some posting.

Greetings
Sigmus

PS: I attached some pictures of the customs I have done.

Not at all. Thank you for a very detailed and interesting intoduction, and a warm welcome to the board.

Thank you, too, for the pictures of your excellent customs. Hopefully, you'll show us more soon.

May I make a small comment about the Sultan custom? He would be a MUslim and with that religion the reproduction of living things such as people and animals is forbidden so he would not have the lion emlem on his clothing.

I look forward to you getting that house so we can see the castle of your dreams in a few years' time.

Welcome to the board. I really empathise with your longing to move to get a playmobil room and, like you, I share my toys nicely with my children!

We are currently - at last - posting our first photo story. It has been great working on it with them. Maybe your wonderful customs will inspire you to tell some playmobil stories? I hope so!

Hello Sigmus,

It's been a pleasure reading your introduction.

Funny how having a child brought back the fun you had with Playmobil and now who has more toys? It'll be even more fun playing with him with it all.

Space always seems to be a problem.

We do love pictures, so showing us your customs was great.

I hope you have fun visiting LG.

Hi Sigmus and a warm welcome from the Netherlands.

I really enjoyed reading your intro and didn't find it too long at all.

I have a Playmo room and I love to see my kids play with it. A large problem is (for most collectors) that the collection is outgrowing the room.

Your customs are great, the grandmaster is the one I like the most.
