Finished with the bicycles, here comes the soccer matches that take place almost every weekend and are the talk of the day at work

Belgian competition has started, champions leage the qualification matches are there and in 2008 also a big tournament

Well the first qualifications are over with, now there's a second round and then we will know wich teams will participate

The qualification-rounds are not commonly considered that interesting and are usually only broadcasted by TV-stations in the countries of the participants of these qualification-rounds for the Champions Leage.
So, in Belgium matches that are broadcasted are the ones from the "Racing Genk"-soccer team - which was defeated by a team from Sarajevo (city in ex-Jugoslavia) in the 2nd round - and the "RSCA ANDERLECHT"-soccer team (which I'm a big fan of ) which plays against the strong Turkish "Fenerbache"-team for the 3rd and final qualification-round this wednesday.
The teams that get through these qualifications go to the real Champions Leage, which is broadcasted all over Europe, and some games or extracts with highlights will also probably reach US and Canadian viewers.

@ Mad Nick: PS: a CANADIAN attacker from Polish origins, Tomasz Radzinski, was a very important player for Anderlecht in the Champions leage in 2000/2001, when Anderlecht made it's best perfomance in that League yet.
